It feels further away today than perhaps it did for our ancestors yet glimpses of its ever-presence can be caught on the whispers of a westerly wind, within the verdant glow of moss upon oak or the gentle bubbling of a tumbling stream. The timeless liminal places in nature still speak of the Otherworld. 

 

This mythical land of fantastical beings, undying ancestors and personal conquest is the heritage of our ancestors but is overlaid with misunderstanding, distortion and fear. In an era of land-encroaching technology and the rise of the attention economy could this place of healing, magic and life-enhancing gifts offer us just as much today to the soul of daily life as it did in the foretime? If so, perhaps a re-imagining and re-enchantment of land and self is called to bring balance once again and to re-establish a conscious fluidity between humans and the spirit-people who live there. The earth is opening gateways into her inner realms once again to call us back home but relationship can not be based on the out-dated folklore heavily influenced by a dogmatic church, it must be

re-formed within the consciousness construct of today. There is much to learn and honour from the olde ways but also much we must leave in the past as a new dawn of humanity unfolds. 

 

Central to this regeneration is the emerging symbiotic and co-creative triads of human + plant spirit + nature spirit and human + plant spirit + spirit-person: a form of inter-species communication and collaboration offering a new path towards living in right relationship with all of nature. It is an area of plant spirit work which is growing and this gathering will open discussion by those already working in partnership with beings and spirits in this way, not to offer the final commentary but to create a space for collective exploration on co-creative partnerships with groups of nature beings and their healing potential. 

 

Hosted by plant spirit healers Emma Fitchett and Paul-Martin Strode, this gathering will open the dialogue around this most ancient yet misunderstood alliance. Each day an area of discussion will be presented for group exploration to unearth the ethics, teachings and potentials offered by inhabitants of the Otherworld. A dialectic discussion which will not approach this parallel world simply as mythic story nor as philosophy or theory but as both subjective and objective reality and from where realtime reconnection to our true nature can unfold. It is an invitation to those called as bridge-builders, to weave the spirit of the past into the fabric of our modern world.
