Natural Esoterics in Practice

Hidden knowledge of the inner realms of the plant kingdom can be traced back throughout history. The therapeutic and medicinal papiri of the Egyptians and the magical volumes of the Greeks offer a rich heritage of applications and usage of the conscious intelligence of plants. The magical grimoires of medieval Europe and the oral wisdom of the Celts also divulge nature spirit secrets and the lore of both common and poisonous plants. The herbal magic of days gone by teaches the combinations and the toxicology to affect change in the world yet all true magic concerns itself with the transmutation of inner world realities. Bound as we are to this earthly realm I have dedicated my life and work to exploring how we can liberate the human spirit from limitation to become truly sovereign, how we can expand consciousness beyond the confines of the physical world and how we can take up our rightful place as guardians of and co-creators with nature. Through embracing my current incarnational nature as a child of the Earth, what I and many others have discovered is that the keys to true freedom are held within the biodiversity of Gaia herself.

In the British Isles, we are blessed to have plant knowledge and lineages of natural magic traceable to mythological times, the physicians of Myddfai receiving their herbal lore from their Otherworldly mother, a Shining One of the Elven realm for example. For these isles conjure the mythic within when we walk these ancient hills and encircle these magnificent megaliths. The wisdom of the inner realms of nature is in our blood, it is in our bones. Although we have this rich heritage of plant lore, there is a difference between knowing the plant for the application and the practice of the application itself. ‘Natural esoterics’ is a phrase I created to refer to the practice of immersion and exploration of the inner realms of plants and their effects upon the psyche, the emotions and upon connection to spirit for personal evolvement, set within the structure of metaphysical lore. It is a spiritual practice within itself as through the luminosity of the plants themselves we are taken back to the source of our own inner light. This form of direct teaching from the realm of spirit then evolves into the application of healing for others, ensuring the attainment of mystical knowledge is balanced by the humility of service.

There is so much that has been lost to time and so much yet to be discovered about the spiritual forces and powers of plants. Knowledge might be eroded within the minds of humans but it is still held within collective memory and within the consciousness of nature. The understanding of reality and the universe, how plant spirits work together in the unseen realms, gems hidden in the depths of the Underworld and the keys to spontaneous healing can all be conveyed to us from the spirit world itself, as our history and mythology teaches. Natural esoterics is the stepping into this sacred lineage and taking up our rightful place as intermediaries between Earth and the divine. It embraces direct experience so that personal discoveries, personal connection and unique plant magic creation can emerge. Natural esoterics practice contributes to the continuation of herbal practice and healing in our modern era, giving the plant spirits back their voice as elders, teachers and healers.
We are not the only ones evolving on this planet and we have allies in the green realms who want to evolve with us. By stepping into a plant spirit and natural esoteric practice we not only develop personal capacity within the spirit realms and advance our personal healing but we contribute to the vast body of collective wisdom surrounding the spirits and the high intelligence of plants.
